It's almost a no-brainer because the JPY has seriously devalued over the last decade so it's not only a very close destination but a cheap one as well. Anyone with a few hundred bucks can take an inexpensive weekend trip or even a one day trip.

I had a dumb thai firend girl who was a mega weeb and wouldnt STFU about Japanese food, anime, etc. She couldn't even speak the language.
I told her when she goes there to go with low expectation so she doesn't get disappointed.
When she travelled there for 2 weeks and returned she was disappointed because it wasn't so special.
every weeb loves Japan because of anime and fantasies they made up in their head because they are social inept losers. They never consider the bad aspect of it, that's why they glorify it thinking they will be in heaven.
Once they get hit with a dose of reality it, their perception of Japan changes. Some end up hating it for good.
