You can't fake being part of them though l. To get an elder to accept you, you would have to be part of their community, perhaps learn their customs or language and also be of benefit to the community. And you would have to do that like 5 times over. So you would have to be committed and you would learn a lot about their people. It would feel more like a pilgrimage. THEN you have the option of changing your papers or whatever. But I feel the knowledge you gain is the cool part.
