Nah, Denver has a problem with bay area transplants (like most 'cool' cities) but otherwise it's pretty nice, and there's a lot of great nature a stone's throw away.

LA would be a shithole in my book if I didn't grow up in it. Downtown is pretty trashy, no one should ever go there at night without a car, especially near Skid Row. Korea Town is pretty fun, but then again you need a car or there's a low chance a crackhead would try to attack you while walking
