Nordic is generally a subgroup of Germanic, and in that case it is synonymous with North Germanic. Sometimes Nordic includes Finland though.
Germanic refers in it's simplest definition to the Germanic language family, which includes English, German, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic and a number of smaller languages.

Historically, the earliest language that can with certainty be considered Germanic was spoken in Scandinavia, Western Finland and Northern Germany during the bronze age, roughly 1800-500 BC. In the 1930s, about half of the people in Germany were nordic. A small part were western european like the french, some were baltic, some phalian and some dinaric.
