Can't we just make more F-16s?

Just buy some more f-14's, f-15's, and f-16's. Why do we need to fuck around with new aircraft?

I'm worried about the f-35's air to ground payload. It uses those internal hardpoints and carries a ton of air to air missiles, but how is it supposed to engage ground targets?

The f-22 was already a sidegrade to the f-15, it performed marginally better but the F-15 already had air superiority over our rivals at the time.

The f-35 was supposed to be a god damn monster:

ALL of these features got cut by our senate.

Now our f-16's are nearing 40 years old, they are great planes but they were never designed to last forever. We are stuck with a few hundred cut rate replacements, when what we need are new f-16's.

this really shouldn't be news to foreign intelligence agencies, either, its all out in the open. They know we are stuck with these aging dinosaurs, while they continue to build cheap, but effective planes in bulk. routinely replacing their old and aging equipment with new planes of old design.

Our congress shares part of the blame with Lockheed. Our senate didn't really know what it wanted, and Lockheed failed to deliver on its promises.
