I haven't seen my own father in person for 2 years even though he lives 10 minutes down the road form me. I just can't really be bothered to go and see him, because he was always boring and mean to me, and he also is suffering from increasingly bad memory loss so he gets really fucking annoying. I feel bad and he rings me every 2 days to speak to me and always asks if I am going to visit and I say no and don't give a reason or say that I have to do stuff here.

to be honest the thing I feel worst about is that I have to walk past his house on the way to work every day. but I intentionally wait to make sure he isn't outside watching before I sneak past, I often turn up late for work because he was in the garden, I've even skipped work a couple of times to avoid walking past him when he was in the garden planting his potato crop for the year which takes him several hours as he is very weak and old. I've even exploited his memory loss in this regard by sneaking into his garden at night, digging up his plants and putting full sized supermarket potatoes in the garden so he thinks they finished growing and takes them in and stops tending to them for the year and I've posted faked government letters through his door advising him to stay inside for a few days because the government is testing a new insecticide in the village (when he rings me sometimes he comments on how it must have worked too well because he sees less insects now)

I feel bad, I haven't seen any family other than him for 5 years.
