Gender and Identity politics were never used as a wedge issue to divide socialists into a thousand little tribes by the neoliberals and conservatives. So they're still just another part of larger anti-classist initiatives and they receive no special attention. Nor do they distract from socialist initiatives. By US measure then, Latin America is still in the 60s.

Thrift stores yes, fast fashion is a global phenomena, so well made used clothing has more demand. I imagine that's true worldwide. A lot of the clothes is donated American clothes, of course, but sorting out all the XXXL charity softball t-shirts takes a while so they're still sold at a premium.

As a fellow latina I can say that Salvadorian immigrants aren’t that bad. They are just kinda sad to look at. Most of them are still working class even though some of them have been here for more than 25 years. They live in the shitty apartments in ghetto areas, are fat/obese, act like low class people and they don’t push their own kids/grandkids to pursue anything worthwhile. Most of their kids have ended up, at most, going to college (which is like community college in the states) and become immigration office workers or social workers.
