DJT is a Japanese language 勉強スレ for anyone interested in the language, anime, manga, visual novels, light novels and Japanese video games. Japanese speakers learning English are welcome, too.
>出歯亀 >1908 - The bucktooth turtle incident. A woman returning from a public bath is strangled by Ikeda Kametarō (kame means turtle in Japanese.) The crime was committed after Ikeda had been caught peeping in a woman's bathhouse. Ever since the incident, bath peepers have sometimes been referred to as "bucktooth turtles" which was Ikeda's nickname.

How do I say "Do you know where I can buy some in Australia"?
>起こす >起きる >起こる I'll learn this shit eventually but this fucking sucks, especially all at once. Remembering what okurigana indicate is 10 times worse than remembering kanji
>起こす Also because of the deck's shitty ordering you will encounter its second meaning like 4000 cards latter, might want to push that card to the front.
Adrian Jenkins
Your questions mostly seem like translation requests rather than attempts to learn~
The only value this thread has now is being a space where potential new learners can see the op links. Both the threads on /jp/ and Jow Forums have been taken over by tripfags, namefags, e-celebrity and resident mentally ill posters such as the Polish guy here and "Jamal" on /jp/. This post is merely a pity bump.

>tripfags B) >This post is merely a pity bump. But it was already bumped 可愛いツンデレ~
just sage it. be the hero to put both out of their misery the move from /a/ killed DJT

Shove your translation requests up your arsehole you worthless parasite, not even once have you ever tried to help anyone out and rarely do you even accept help, no one will give a fuck about you since you're a mentally ill piece of shit.
>"Do you know where I can buy some in Australia"? “オーストラリアのどこで同じものが買えるか知っていますか?” The point is you just seem proficient enough not needing that tier of questions. Any of you Japanese sentence preceding questions is good enough and it just seems you’re trying to have us translate irrelevant topics.
This is my butchered attempt at translating the beginning of Attack of the Super Monsters. It's supposed to be "Though some of the dinosaurs are willing to live peacefully underground, they are forced to attack humanity by their mad ruler, Emperor Tyrannos.
Dudes, this is the only place which came to my mind, so I will ask here. It's an anki related question. Suppose you have 2 decks. You want then to merge them together. How do you keep the card order of each individual deck in the new merged deck? Both original decks are ordered by the time the cards were added. The new merged deck is ordered differently. What do.
Brayden Long
>倫 Another ugly Kanji for my collection :) I did it like this: just create a new deck and then make those 2 decks a subdeck
>勘弁してください Yes, it(=してください) is actually omitted. But not many people care "the omission" today.
Liam Bennett
One more anki related question. When I try to import a deck, which was already studied partially, the new imported deck always starts at the cards, which were not studied yet. Can I somehow import a deck that starts from the scratch? With correct card order (ordered by time added?). One would think anki would be easier to use, huh.
Michael Jenkins
Do you want to reset the deck, so all cards are new?
I guess? I want to import the deck, as it is (all cards are the same and in the same order). The imported deck must start with the first card and proceed in the original order (time added) to the last.

Your garbage explanation isn't helping, come back when you decide to give more info.

You could just go into the card browser and reschedule all at once then
always ask yourself if rest of humanity had this question before you already.

>喜んで平和的に地中に住む一部の恐竜がいるにも関わらず, 狂った君主のティラノ*ス王(this is merely aesthetic preference, but this actually will sound more “natural”)は恐竜(たち)に人類を攻撃させ*る(this is a grammatical mistake, “ティラノサ王は...させられる” means it’s the Tyrannos who is forced to attack humanity BY other dinosaurs).

Thanks. I've never watched the show in Japanese but the English dub is hilarious.
Sasuga ni giving me a hard time is worth it (for you)

I just noticed you wrote >さずが But his problem wasn't sasuga ;)

Is a production deck for vocab worth it? I've been focusing on learning to read kanji and understand the English meaning, but I struggle to remember how to actually say the word. Anyone gotten any benefit from a English to kana reading cards? Does it help with recalling the words and recognising them in speech?
Logan Campbell
No shitty anki deck will ever beat reading COMPELLING CONTENT
The ideal card: Word with Kanji / Okurigana, back: whole word in hiragana and a definition that is either in English or in Japanese.
Focus on reading the word and understand it's meaning.
I think this might be what you were saying with "understand the English meaning" but not sure. Going English to Japanese is not recommended and you should not translate from English to Japanese to say something as much as you can instead focus on reproducing structures youve seen in Japanese somewhere.
My marital partner, going by the name of Chino, is very aesthetically pleasing and endearing. Cute, if you will. But what is "cute"? Is cute a look? Is something cute something that you look at and say "wow, was cute"? If that's the case, wouldn't that make cute a feeling instead? After all, if the quality of being "cute" is predicated on the ability to elicit the feeling of cute, wouldn't that make cuteness aesthetically and cuteness emotionally synonymous?
>itazuraneko.neocities.org/ どこで買い物どうですかaustrailiaには im trying to say 5. If it's that you're talking about, I've heard it numerous times. そいうことっていうか、数回ことを聞いてたんだった
I honestly don't understand JLPT classification Why is 呂 an N1 kanji if 風呂 is a commonly used word in N5 tests? A lot of common N5 words use N3 and N4 kanji as well

Stuff making sense is a unknown concept in Japan. You'll get used to it soon enough.
With that kept in mind, can we then say that Chinpo herself is the visual manifestation of emotion? Gents, I think it's fair to say that Chipo herself lives in all of us.
