It really is unsustainable. Their ability to build these shitty neighborhoods far outpaces the rising demand. It’s scary. My neighbor is building a new house after the flood, they framed it in a week. 1500 sqft.
The other scary thing about my area is that we are driven by the oil industry. We’ve had a few new construction projects start up. Tens of thousands of contract workers are moving in. The tradesmen are living in RV parks. A hookup costs $500 a month now. Those guys are only around for a few months. The management buys houses though. They’ll sell them when the job is over.
The scary thing, of the 60k jobs those projects have created only a few hundred will be permenant.
