American "christians" are a joke but the Catholic Church's official stance is that it is amputation and mutilation if practiced for non-therapeutic purposes. Paul also opposed circumcision* for religious reasons, as the far more human practice of baptism had replaced it as a means of "signing" the Covenant with God.
*though he did get Timothy circumcised for cultural reasons, living among the Jews and all
