I don't think I have. Are they good?

Yeah, I grew up eating fried plantain chips. They were a commion snack around the house.

Yep. Plantains are starchy and they make chips out of them, similar to potato chips. They're a savoury

Bananas are obviously sweet on the other hand

I tried making tostones once. They were okay.

Yes I live in Miami. I have them both quite often.

Yes my parents are from latam

Can't eat plantain raw, can eat banana baked. Plantain is not popular in italy, might find it in African or Latin american markets and shops though. Maybe some Latin restaurant but those are not frequent themselves. Bananas are as popular as apples. Yeah I had both but for reasons above I rarely eat plantain

I've seen them around but never tried them

the dark colour always put me off.

what's an easy dish to make with them?

What do you think? Also, green bananas can be eaten while green if you boil 'em, they go well with codfish. Also mofongo is great
