Germany will agree to open EU accession talks with North Macedonia in September, Skopje has said, but Albania's prospects look less bright. "We are convinced that North Macedonia will start negotiations with the EU this year," Macedonian prime minister Zoran Zaev said in a statement on Thursday (13 June) after meeting German leader Angela Merkel in Berlin.
"Chancellor Merkel informed us that the Bundestag will make a decision in September to approve the start of EU negotiations with North Macedonia in line with Germany's confirmed enlargement procedures," he added.

yeah the lev has been linked to the euro since the very beginning. We're trying to join ERM II this year or early next year. So we're on course to join in a couple years. But I'm very torn about it. When Greece's economy went to shit some poor as fuck Latvians and Lithuanians had to pay out of their pockets to keep the Greek pensioners on 2000 euro afloat. The same might happen to us except we'd be paying for Italy for example.
