The German occupation of Norway in WWII burnt down Northern Norway, while the Red army liberated Northern Norway. The Red army behaved like gentlemen, and would rather sleep outside than take the houses from civilians. And when Norway was secured, the Red army politely left the premises. Everyone in Northern Norway fondly remember the Soviet army.
