They are litteraly the freest region in Europe after the Basque country. The have total control over their education system, healthcare system, police force, public tv, etc. They also collect taxes, only that they are sent to Madrid and they are somewhat redistributed. Their whole independence movement only shows how incompetent and inferior they are to the Basques. The Basques like to pretend that they want to secede (I don't mean that there isn't a Basque identity, which there is, just as there is a Castilian or Galician one), but that is only a political tactic to get richer and make the most out of being in Spain. The sc*tal*ns on the other hand are blinded by their retarded nationalism, and are unable to see of how they can take advantage of being Spanish. Also, they have delusions of grandeur and believe that they are superior (morally and ethnically), when this is the reality.

Protip: in the 1-O referendum with high unemployment and years of propaganda you didn't reach 40% of proindependence voters.
Now the catalan blood is being diluted by mass immigration, and the right wing is not into power (less hate), and there's lower unemployment (less hate).
By the time you are allowed to make a real referendum, there won't be even 30% support.
