Just show them what St. Paul had to say about circumcision. Deemed it completely unnecessary to convert to christianity (at least for gentiles). It was a very important factor that drove many gentiles away from officially converting to the religion although they were okay with christians for the most part, and is partly the reason why catholicism doesn't heavily encourages circumcision (nor oppose it).

Ah and I forgot to to say most aren't even religious so those people do it for the same reasons as many Americans which is "hygiene/extra skin/everyone else is like that!" because Jews who moved abroad or didn't come to Israel and stayed in Europe usually don't do it.
