Russians are very fond of the word buddy when speaking English for some reason

only on the internet

Been saying ''nonce'' all the time, lad. Feel like a proper bloke

my favourite british insult is 'pillock'
it's fun to say and you would just use it in the same way as moron or idiot

Why yes, I do support the development of a trans-Atlantic British/North American hybrid dialect

I use "cheers" is it a bong thing or Americans use too

no, we're not, you obsessed eastern euro fuck

>cringe
stopped reading there

I'm not anglo and english is not my native language so I'm entitled to use dude or lad interchangeably. Fight me brits and yanks

>he doesn't say butt, butty or boyo

Attached: cymrupepe.jpg (406x401, 45K)

Euhm.. I got directly in contact with both so I make a crazy mix when I speak. Usually neither could tell I'm Italian, while I don't sound native yet. Though, I luckily sound Brit accented for the mericans if I don't think about using my Cali accent and just talk as it comes. Same way Italians can't ever tell where I come from.
Anyway, brit>merican

>It's all going to plan

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (239x359, 27K)

i deal more with muricans, especially on xbox live so I use dude way more often. But I've met a couple brits here in the past at pubs in the touristy area of my city and I tried to change my accent to fit in, kek

so are Hindu/Pakistani/Bangladeshi alcohol shop workers here, on top of calling people "boss"

really makes you think

no we don't really, at least not out of context of pic related

Attached: cheers.jpg (2000x1000, 379K)

It's a bong thing. In America we only say it if we're bumping glasses.

Well there is different "buddy"s tho; mericans say yooo bèriii
Northern Brits say hey bhudi very quick

yeah they say boss here too

>Anyway, brit>merican
In the same way that terrone>northern italian yes

>mericans say yooo bèriii
What

>yeah they say boss here too
Hmm that's actually very strange.
etymonline.com/word/buddy says it's 1850s American English but East India Company rule was 1750-1850, and British Raj rule was 1850-1950. So somehow an Americanism spread to India and then filtered backwards to both of us?

still sick
twelve grams inna zip

I forgot this too
etymonline.com/word/boss#etymonline_v_15640

but it's from 1640s American English from bastardized Dutch, which predates EIC

I prefer Mate

not surprised

Attached: maté.png (800x1137, 782K)

any ladders?

>despite my lack of british heritage
Think again russian oil millionaire

Based

Not talking about people, just accents.
Northern Italians nearly don't have a dialect anymore and southerners do, so quite yes, mo' interesting languages

Americans say buddy the same way Brits do, but generally slower t.b.h. I can't even imagine "bèriii" outside of saying Barry or berry

Huh too difficult by texting.
Often Brits spell the U like it is, as "music". Buddy. As "pan" and "can" for Brits A and mericans say "pèn and Ken". Mericans say bàry.
I say potato you say potato, I say tomato you say tomato

What else should I say? "Mate" sounds like you want to have sex with the person you're speaking to, "buddy" and "pal" sound too passive aggressive, "man" and "dude" sound too American, "fellow" sounds redneck, and "friend" sounds antiquated.

>be me
>londoner
>go to kebab shop
>guy at the front says "yes, boss, what can i get you?"
>"the usual, bossman. lamb with the salad on the side."
>guy give me order
>"thanks, bruv"
And it has been like that for years.

>cockney assuming doner kebabs have recipe variants

Forgot to add "for years ever since I came to this country". I want to go back to the mediterranean, but even though I hate this piece of shit city, I still love it.

I love London. But too darn posh for my wallet
Where ya from non cockney?
