Americans complain about their roads a lot and idealize German ones but in fact America has better infrastructure than Germany. Germans just don't talk a lot about their poorly maintained roads and boast only about the perfect ones.

Unironically looks better than most roads in Alberta.

Don't forget Germany forcing Tesla to gimp autopilot so bmw has time to catch up

you never went to belgium i see.

lmao

autopilot is not a substitue for a driver and no one should let cars self drive

BMW is gonna bury the tesla meme in the next 10 years

What the fuck I thought Germans were supposed to be good at engineering and stuff

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Brandenburg_Airport

>After almost 15 years of planning, construction began in 2006. Originally planned to open in October 2011, the airport has encountered a series of delays and cost overruns. These were due to poor construction planning, execution, management, as well as corruption.[9][10][11] Autumn 2020 became the new target for the official opening date[12][13][14] as 2019 became too improbable.[15][16] A TÜV report published in November 2017 suggested that the opening could even be delayed until 2021.[17][18][19][20]

>By 2009 the construction cost was budgeted at €2.83 billion

>As of 13 January 2018, the company requested an additional €2.8 billion for extensions until 2030.[66] Taking that into account, the total cost comes to €9.4 billion,[67][68] with a total of €10.3 billion if the €900 million in overhead costs previously mentioned are factored in.

German investments make up only 19% of foreign investments in Poland. Only the USA and France combined account for 20% so already more.

what would create trails like this?It doesn't look like a normal erosion to me

That's an ancient, unmaintained, stone road, being used by modern, heavy, vehicles.

He's actually correct though

Some of Germany's Autobahns are worse than Belgian roads

That's clearly Rome, please visit Rome and its hole tourism, make lot of selfies.

Still better than Russian road. It's like driving on the moon over there ffs.

And Poland has nice roads thanks to being a complete EU-gibs leech.

Polish Highways are truly better this days, they are all brand new build by EU money ( there’s a EU sign build near any road). But compare the number of German roads to the few Polish ones. The roads here are Germany may be at the moment not be the best of Europe, but after Switzerland and the benelux they could be.

What a surprise, it's a thread full of Polish butthurt.

Yeah I'm sure when BMW somehow makes an electric that's even more expensive than a tesla they'll win

BMW is a joke. VW are gonna be ok, but BMW's are for minorities to rap about and their customers are idiots that will switch to the next fashionable brand as soon as one arrives (which coincidentally is Tesla)

Agree, BMW is relying too much on thier brand meme and did nothing notable to push into newer tech. VW and Mercedes meanwhile pumped tens of billions of € into electric and autonomous driving. The future of German car making belongs to VW, Mercedes, Sion and the German Mail.

it looks a pretty cool road, the likes you find in the alps

I fucking hate Ossis and their stupid infrastructure programms its like half of their gibs went in building new roads nobody uses

Shouldn't your congested shithole states be able to easily afford new roads with all the money coming in from the speed traps on every km of road? Oh wait, your green politicans don't give a fuck about badly needed infrastructure and rather spend it on even more gibs.

How would you encourage people to move (or at least not to leave) to east Germany?

do you live in a bubble? its poles saying how good our roads are compared to them. we have been complaining about our goverment neglecting infrastructure investments for decades.

you dont.

>its poles saying how good our roads are compared to them

never heard of it

Delightful.

I did. point is you are delusional if you think germans dont complain about infrastructure. its one of our favourite hobbies.

maybe they do it in German so the international community doesn't know about it but in public Germans always boast about it

Is that why the greens are currently projected to become the majority party in this country?

Thats because the are seen as the least crappy option. Bear in mind that the CDU has Kramp-Knarrenbauer, and they also let Von Der Leyen and a CSU guy handle defense and infrastructure. People are looking for other options, with the SPD and AfD being totally incompetent and FDP and Linke being viewed as economical nutjobs, the Greens were the only ones left. They have a good track record in regional goverments, and they got rid off Claudia Roth and Hofreiter

i live in the ghetto and the city ignores the area pretty hard. there are two foot deep potholes everywhere. just keeps poor people poor pretty much. my neighbor finally got a hoopty, and within a week completely destroyed his front right tire and got his bumper ripped off on a giant pot hole.

>They have a good track record in regional goverments
Yes, they sure fixed Stuttgarts congestion problems and horrid street infrastructure for one. But it certainly reflects the general consensus in the population, everyone is complaining about things being shit, but no one does anything to change it, so when the next election comes along, the people vote for the one party that always complains, but never actually accomplishes anything, because their grand dreams of the future are entirely unfeasable.

>May recude ability to complete sharp turns

Is autosteer able to complete sharp turns as is though? I thought it was mostly about lane keeping on highways and roads similar to highways at this point?

>Lane change must start within 5 seconds of engaging turn signal

That's pretty generous actually.. I was taught to not engage the turn signal before actually making the lane change. As in: You check mirrors, check blind spot and only when you know there's space you engage the turn signal and immediately make the lane change. If there isn't space, you wait. People riding along with their indicators on that may or may not move are fucking annoying.

This is nothing new.
The meme of "German automotive engineering" comes from the period of 1970s to 1990s where German cars had literally nothing in their "base" models and for every upgrade you had to pay through the nose. So most of them rolling around were base models and there's less stuff to go around with base models.

Not to mention that Germans had a very conservative approach to engineering. They always preferred to use older technology because they understood, which resulted in more reliable systems. Very little experimentation, afraid of innovation like it was fire. Any monkey can do that.

300 SL gullwing was an expensive SPORTS car from the 1950s and 1960s. It had drum brakes on all fours. Citroen DS which was a mass produced executive car from the same era - disc brakes.

French were always better engineers to be honest
