When does it evolve into Quetzalcoatl?

No idea. They attack and kill people and since they're a protected species you're not legally allowed to defend yourself.

true, they like anything shiny. magpie nests are often littered with scraps of tinfoil

I don't think they do, not enough to have to think about it
They are absolute cunts in breeding season though

>They attack and kill people and since they're a protected species you're not legally allowed to defend yourself.
I thought australians losing to birds was a meme bro wtf

Those fucking dickheads ruin my nearby beach every summer. You can barely go swimming there unless you want to first walk through a minefield of bird shit.

nz
none

This magpie isn't exactly unique.
It just happened to get involved in a freak accident.
Killing this magpie for being aggressive means you would have to kill all magpies.
Unless you just want revenge on an animal for being involved in an accident which is silly.

FUCKEN CANADA GOOSES!?

Why don't we have any cool birds like that here?

Probably too cold and too many predators

Maggies swoop at people when they have their baboes, anyone gets close to the nest and they go spastic.

Usually maggies live in clans, they have one chad who will defend his females from rival males. There's on group which claim my house as territory, the chadpie sticks his chest out and attacks other males trying to get his action

When I was a kid I was playing right next to a playground that happened to be somewhat near a big tree, a magpie came swooping down to kill me so my mum ran over to ward it off and save me. Never been so scared in my life. Since then I've been swooped many times, I fucking hate these cunts. Crows are nice though.

What's up with your magpies?
Here they are harmless and chill.

>Australian kids are forced to wear helmets to protect them from magpie attacks.

These birds seem to be pretty based.

European magpies do steal shiny things. Australian magpies are a different species.

They're very intelligent and highly territorial, especially during nesting season.
The trick to dealing with them is to make friends with them before the nesting season. Give them offerings of birdseed and meat and they will eventually not see you as a threat. Magpies can not only recognize faces and names, but can also communicate faces and names to other magpies. Be nice to one of them and the rest will be nice to you.
If they really trust you they'll even introduce their chicks to you, once they can fly.

Magpies near my house are pretty based, don't seem to bother anyone, just hang out around the street. I feed them from time to time. Should go grab some mince for them tomorrow.

underrated

cunts stole food many times but never heard of them stealing jewellery

Any Australian animal or plant that isn't deadly, venomous, dangerous or willing to kill humans? I learned that koalas are also degenerate and total incels that rape and beat females, even the ones with a baby, just to breed and scream the whole time during the rape, eventually retire if the female wins but still screaming in anger like the documentary has shown.

Kea are fun birds, wonder if they can be pets like crows, basically parrot intellect but look more aesthetic and chad.

Penguin I think comes from my language (Welsh). Pen (head) guin (white). Maybe that's a myth though.

Cute.

Do spoons count as jewellery?

The thread made me realize that birds are very important.
In Italy the birds I like the most are crows, upupa, falcons/hawks, hens/cocks various breeds, seagulls, woopeckers, blackbirds and magpies.
I can see most of those in my region and even from my home, the birds of prey are harder to spot but the others are common enough.
I like the colors and how they are coordinates, then extra points if they are funny too. Magpies have an annoying cry however and are very noisy when they move on the roof.
Ducks and geese seem fun too when they get territorial.
And speaking of hens again I've seen some of them being kept as pets even.

Circaetus gallicus (Short-toed snake eagle), a rather small bird of prey.

Plus I like the French name "Circaète Jean-le-Blanc". It has a certain aristocratic tone to it, very fitting for an eagle

Oh right, you have some living fossil trees and those marsupial in general, like the jumping mouse. But also a tree with a bark that will burn your skin and make you feel insane pain and rush reactions. Not even the plants are friendly. Wallabies look friendly and less dangerous than a kangaroo, basically giant rabbits that aren't rodents. Also eaten ad gators and crocs, are emus eaten like ostrich meat too? Big meaty birds.

that bird has an uncanny resemblance to an old teacher i had.

magpies are total bros if you show em whats up. give em some cat food and they'll love you forever. i can even pat some of them and they never swoop me. they even let other magpies in the area know you're a cool guy and the word spreads they just chill out.

koalas are in many ways similar to panda bears
they can only eat one specialised food (eucalyptus tips, bamboo)
they breed slowly
they are retards
they are slow
they cant even climb that well
they young are hardly taken care of.

interesting how similar they are.

Do pandas also have chlamydia like koalas? Flipping hoes
