It is a well-known fact that 'murrican troops would routinely slaughter surrendered japs. The excuse that some would fake surrender and that refusing to take them prisoner was a safety precaution only holds up until you remember that the few who were actually taken prisoner were often murdered in transit to the prisoner camps.
