What's your English level, Jow Forums?
I missed C2 by 6 points when i did the test but that was a few years ago so im probably better now
I wanted to take CPE but the sample tests looked too daunting and I got blown the fuck out in listening.
non-natives can't be c2
D (native)
C2 is achievable, D is not. I guess it's just a ceremonial difference.
>What's your English level, Jow Forums?
Native
D doesn't exist
Huh, I remember reading somewhere that that's the convention. Looks like I was wrong
English natives can take Cambridge too. C2 is the highest level of proficiency.
>he doesn't know about C3 (non-subvocalizing) master race
I took IELTS last December and got 8.5 out of a maximum score of 9. C2 was stated on the results slip, I think you have to score 8 or higher overall. Shan't waste money on other tests
(I took the "academic" IELTS which is the one used by unis for admission, eventually it was useless because my first and second choice unis, both of which have loads of Singaporeans, didn't ask me for the results)
Did a TOEFL test for my semester abroad. Managed to get 103/120. Sadly I didn’t have any contact with native speakers yet or else I’d have probably landed at least a 110/120
Don't TOEFL expire? It's fucking retarded. I just took Cambridge because they're permanent.
why is it so fucking expensive?
I got C1 by the end of highschool, don't remember anything about the exact points. It's probably better now but C1 as a title already opens all the necessary doors so i don't bother
>1st worlder complaining about $250 usd
I hope I don't need C2 for jobs or anything but yeah C1 should be enough.
Yeah, it’s a pain in the ass, but for me it’s better because i improved a lot over my two years abroad and if I had to do it again I’d probably get a better score this time. Also those language proficiency tests are expensive as fuck, I payed nearly 200€ for it
I got a 108/120 when I did it 3 years ago.
I got a C2 with the Cambridge Advanced back in high school, then i did my Leaving Cert in Ireland so i never bothered doing the Proficiency or IELTS.
Why the FUCK things cost money
Like, are you expecting them to work for free or something?
I'm seething because this is thrice my pocket money. I wish I was born in the 1st world
i've never taken any of these legit tests but i assume my level would be somewhere around b1 or b2 considering my last TOEIC meme test score was 755
Scored 7 in the IELTS like 4 years ago or so but I think I've improved since then.
I get to do one for free as part of my uni program.
