ton of nature is relative, there is nature here but every 10km max there will be a village, this isn't the new world. If flatlands are ok for you Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is very thinly settled and has lots of lakes and a coastline, tho it's considered an unattractive region economically compared to elsewhere (hence why it's thinly settled). If you like a few hills or mountains then rural Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Saxony can be nice.

You will find more real Germans in smaller towns.

Of course there are, but smaller towns are more traditional. I think the 2 main languages of Berlin are English and Turkish.

I don't understand the dislike of Germany here. Sure, Berlin's not the best representation, but neither is London for England or New York City for the United States. The Germans I met were kind, albeit blunt people, but were far from cold-heart assholes or autistic.
