Why did you take in visible minorities in the first place? Japan doesn't exactly take in non Japanese people as immigrants. The gulf states don't grant citizenship to foreigners. Too much politics. they should have concentrated on the first few days and efforts to quell the shit. But went full muh evil state. I don't really care about, and it's just looked comically evil and out of place for any russian.
Since everyone knows that at those years KGB was a joke of former self, and failed even to control yeltsin and his butt buddies into falsifying the dissolving of ussr.

Y'all around the globe just watch it as a thriller, but here in Russia everyone knows at least one liquidator each. My mother remembers, how here dad used to go to the market place only with dosimeter (they lived in Krasnodar). I worked with a bald man who was one of the soldiers sent there. He is still unable to have kids.
Chernobyl brings up many topics that are truthful but yet uncomfortable to discuss with foreigners. The thing that make me butthurt is that those things (about politics mostly) are said not by our historians and film makers, but by the West. Same as with the film "Death of Stalin", great film, by the way. Why are we still silent on these topics, why should I handle to foreigners about true history of my homeland?
Also I agree about most of the political satire in both films, I don't like to discuss it with non-russians. It's our sorrow, blood and tears our grandfathers, and we still don't know how to react to it. First we need to accept it with our nation, then we'll be ready to discuss it with you openly.
