I wish I had an electric bike. In an urban environment bike is superior to cars because you can use the roads if you want, but also go off road if that is faster and more convenient. And if you get off the bike you can cross the road during red light.
please come to Germany and support our electric bike industry
the amount of money the government spends on bicycle paths so 2 cyclists can use them a day makes me cry myself to sleep every night
at least you don't have this [spoiler]cause you're flat [spoiler/]
we get creative when it comes to wasting tax money
that is awesome!
I won't ride an electric bike until I'm over 60 year old and my joints start to give up. I get they're handy for commuting longer distances (15km+) but it's more about principle. I don't want to feel like a disabled person. If you want a good commute bike, just buy a light road bike or cx bike should you have lots of non-tarmac roads on your commute.
>cx
Fun to ride, but a bit of a pain in the ass if you're using it to commute. Also maybe it's just me, but riding it just makes me faster, and I start pedalling too hard if my mind wanders, which means I arrive sweaty.
No I don't think so. Also Europe doesn't have a government
No.
No the government of europe doesn't exist yet.
VAT is 24% as usual.
I think bicycles should be considered medical/sports services and taxed at 10%.
I have a 15 minute uphill bike ride to uni, I'm always soaked in sweat when I arrive so I have to wear special exercise clothes that don't absorb too much sweat. That's why an electric would be nice.
lol do danes really?
No, in the Netherlands cars pay for bikes and public transport.
It doesn't. Because less car traffic is good so it's incentivized.
Not taxing (yet) but heavily regulated.
Electric bicycles aren't allowed to go over 25 km/h etc.
Over 25 km/h you need to register it as a moped, though.
Electric bikes are pretty neat because they’re pretty much like a scooter but way less of a hassle, my dad even bought two electric bikes for himself and my mom because his company gave him an incentive where you can “lease” your own bike
Same here but mine does 52-53 km/h on high mode. Never been pulled over since I bought it 2 years ago.
you are allowed to ride it its just the electric motor is limited to 350watt i think and cuts out at 25, above that its all pedal power. all bikes sold in stores are like that but you can buy 2kw kits on ebay and build yourself, just dont get caught riding it.
Can confirm, I also know several boomers who comute to work that way
I don't know. Cops have more important stuff to do than bothering random cyclists anyway, unless the cyclist is doing some really retarded stuff that could cause a traffic accident
I really wish city bikers burned in eternal hellfire
Yes but only sales tax
wow, rude! Give it back now, it belonged to my opa.
I bet they will someday in the future. Would not surprise me in the slightest desu (maybe they will first introduce a tax on E-Bikes which will enrage the fucking hipsters)
Cyclists are subhumans who never respect the road code and drive in the middle of the road.
>meanwhille I have to traverse across broken sidewalks with dogshit and garbage on them, to wait for an India-tier overcrowded bus that arrives late so I can get to my 480 euros/month job pushing boxes
Jesus, we become third world when nobody was looking.
That pretty much describes Portugal but i make 555€ and i also lift the boxes
>and i also lift the boxes
me too :(
Hold on brother we're all gonna make it. I think.
Im Still in this hellhole just more 10minutes
Ride with no hands on the handlebars, that will keep you chill.
only the ones who ride racerbikes with tight-fitting clothes
They should.
Can't you just get a beat up old used car for ~$1000? That's what the poor people here do
I would do this if I was planning to stay. But for now I'd rather save that money to migrate somewhere I'll be making 3-4 times as much. Or get some training/qualifications etc. Being poor sucks in general.
>gasoline >1.6 euros per liter
>no free parking near the city center
>no parking at all during rush hours
>taxes, car insurance, maintenance
Just not worth it for someone with my wage.
