I think it's because many posters here relate with us since everyone has the intuition that social anxiety is common in Finland. That combined with the huge amount of posters, some memes provided by us and the obscurity of our country, a lot of attention is being directed towards us as a result.

per capita is either per the number of posters from the country, posters of that posting demographic, or per members of that population total of the country

Soviets industrialized us whereas Swedes just wanted tax money and slaves. Swedes did forcefully unite the Finnic tribes and established a governtment here, got to give them that.

You may not know this, but the swedes dumped off a lot of Finns in the new world when their country tried to make its own colony along the banks of one of our major rivers. It amounted to little more than haphazardly placed cabins, which were conquered by the Dutch, who were promptly evicted by the English, but the Finns remained. In fact it was a lot of Finnish labor that first cleared land for the early settlements that came to form Philadelphia
