How Americanized is Britain?

Do they use American slangs, watch American shows, play American sports and read American books?

Nobody reads books here

American TV/Film is very poppular here. American music is listened to about as much as British artists, maybe a bit less. People don't really use American slang.

51st state lad

it's funny how britain is less americanised than some european countries

The UK is entirely culturally independent and foreign to that of the US

Southern Englishisation is a bigger issue.
Every youth going speaks like they're from the South East.

Britain is not Americanized.

America is a democracy with three co-equal branches of government.

Britain is a monarchy with funny wigs and a pretend parliament.

Thank God our founding fathers recognized this hundreds of years ago.

How long until the Brits acquire the General American accent? Have you noticed young people pronouncing things differently? You guys are bombarded with American media all the time, I would imagine people would unconsciously start picking up certain things
