I have dirt on a major corporation. Some of what they're doing might be illegal so it's almost assuredly not protected as a trade secret.

To whom do I sell it?

I mean I was leaning to sell the dirt to Stratfor since I think they're both a competitor and have secondary uses for the information.

You're going to have a tough time of getting money under the table. If you want to go that route, I'd do it through a lawyer that you hire.

Better to bring the info to the government and try and get a book deal as a whistleblower.

See, the problem is that they government pays, but if your name is in it then the company is going to hire private investigators to try to dig dirt on you and run a harassment/smear campaign against you. I'd rather pawn the info off to a competitor and let them do whatever with it so I can avoid the hassle.

Again, that issue can be mitigated by hiring a lawyer.
