My GF went to an urgent care facility in Las Vegas because she was on a work trip and she got food poisoning. The doctor literally spoke with her for less than 10 minutes and told her to get some over the counter items.

The bill for that little fucking conversation? THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I told her not to go and to just take whatever the doctor said, but her company demanded her to visit a medical facility as per protocol.

Her company is paying for it but the health care here is a fucking scam. Even in third world countries X rays are less than 10 dollars, here is $400. Really makes you think...

Yes, the resources are cheap, but you're paying for the rent of the machine, the hourly rate of the technician doing the exam and the radiologist doctor examining it. The cheapest one you will find here in the third world still costs 100$, only government subsided ones are affordable.
