Well, It is hard to explain. Living in an apartment, driving everywhere, living amongst differant ethnic groups, especially blacks. It feels more lonely in a city than in the country. I lived in Florence for a month, and even though i was a foreigner there, i still feel as much as an outsider here in the city, only 40 minutes away from my home.
