If this is about crime fiction, I liked "The Alienist".
In the 1890s New York, some boys that dress like girls are murdered. An alienist (old term for psychiatrist) tries to profile and find the murderer. And they do in the end.

At least there's one based user on Jow Forums, the rest are plebs for not liking it.
I liked it a lot but I also get pissed when I think about it. How they butchered the story, crammed the conclusion into the 2nd season that wasn't supposed to be the last.
The show is special because you rarely see protagonists like Vorenus and Pullo, portrayed as men of their time - murderers, conquerors and torturers, but likeable at the same time. Usually protags in historical series are pussified af and made to appeal to a politically correct audience.
>we will never get seasons 2-5 of Rome as they wanted it
>no Jesus
It is also sad that we will never see a decent HBO series about the Punic Wars. Imagine how many intergenerational kino seasons that could make.

>seemed to be a nod to Rome
One of the more recent telekinos. Just don't go to /tv/ to discuss it, they've ruined the Terror and Chernobyl threads with rampant faggotry like they did with Hannibal.
I've been listening to the audiobook lately and it's pretty good too.

How do Germans feel when they watch this part?
Very emotional scene. I think in Germany there are less people who have made similar experiences but we nonetheless feel empathy at that part.
Based empathetic krauts
I don't understand.
I am wondering why he don't want me man
He is not a person for marriage, and Kim would never marry him in his true person.
She loves him but wants him to change, and he wont change, she knows that but has fools hope as do all women.
Would you marry Kim? She seems like the best female on television in terms of being a romantic partner.
No. She is not housewife material and is the epitome of american career woman.
She is in her 30s, has well paid stressful job, she is away all the time and so on

yeah, it was one of the few shows where id see a scene/hear dialog happen, and then laugh out loud like 2 seconds later, in serious or slow scenes they''d throw something out there that was unexpected and take a second to even catch.
Mad Men is similar in that regard. You guys should watch it if you haven't already. Same depth of writing and character, just less violence.
>You guys should watch it if you haven't already. Same depth of writing and character, just less violence.

Strawberry Marshmallow

Mad Men seems like a refined The Sopranos (unsurprisingly). It's like they really mastered the style of narrating ambivalent characters without judging them, showing people as real complex human beans, thus the complexities in all of us.
I think maybe Tony Soprano's life was more dramatic, given that he literally dealt in death, that's perhaps more compelling. But Don Draper is essentially the same character, despite being rich and classy: he is the boss, with all the pressure that comes from it, and struggles to become better only to fail over and over again. They are both good people deep down, but don't now how to ascend in their decadent surroundings. And this is such a relatable problem.
Anyway, work of a genius, both of them.
you really should watch Mad Men, it was on netflix last time I saw it, but certainly you can find it on pirate bay and stuff

thanks bro. And yea, one of the highlights of Mad Men has to be watching Don Draper's genius at work. How he builds phrases with such precision and grace, it's astonishing. I like to think I learned a lot about rhetoric, just by watching the show, lol. I wish I had real rhetoric and oratory classes tho

>Then we see this… frog, in a tuxedo. And he’s smiling, holding a glass of the wine. Elegance, refinement, but you know, just like your product, this green creature is going to leave you with something - some surprise. He gives a smug look directly to the viewer, his movements are slow and deliberate. And you understand it’ll be something you want to hear but can never say, because it’s what we’ve all been thinking. But this frog drinks the wine, and has the boldness, the edge of the village sage drunkard, but still has that refinement. He takes a moment, and tinks the glass, eyes still on the viewer. Aristocratic.

Isn't this the Boomers Spartacus?
Zoomer here, No, nothing can replace ROME
US
Making a Murderer (documentary series)
Docu series showing how fucked up the American legal system can be.
Guy in Wisconsin is put in prison for 18 years for a crime he didn't commit, comes out of jail and tries to sue the police department. He gets "caught" for another crime and attorneys think it's the county police framing him. The police use his mentally disabled cousin to build a story and try to put both of them in jail for life.
Is it really worth watching after you watched Spartacus?
I mean it just can't have more sex or violence or drama or intrigues...
They're like 5 years appart so no. And Rome has a heavy emphasis on how life actually was during those times besides the intrigues and violence.
>They are both good people deep down, but don't now how to ascend in their decadent surroundings. And this is such a relatable problem.
i wouldnt go so far as to say tony was a good person deep down, i think he genuinely loved his kids and animals, but beyond that i dont think even his wife and friends meant that much to him. i think he understood what it meant to be a good human being, and tried and tired to access that part of himself and truly live it and feel it, but in the end, it just wasnt there. i think the best anyone could hope for was that he eventually accepted that part of himself and lived the rest of his days doing what he could to minimize the hurt he caused to others, which he inevitably fails at because the emotional intelligence and unconditional caring just doesnt exist in him. being close to tony soprano is a curse
you meant to (you)

It's Spartacus but not gay
Don't even mean it as an insult. Spartacus is an excellent gay show
I haven't watched Spartacus yet except for the parts on pornhub with ilithyia, lucy lawless, and the big tiddy slave girl that's fucked by johnathan from the mummy. Seems like a nice show
