Cost me about $180 two years ago and I've never had a problem with it. Even the battery is still going strong, compared to my previous Moto G and Nexus phones.

Why do people buy $300-$1000 phones? Is it just for the cameras?

I posted this pic for an iphone mocking thread yesterday but allow me to repost here.
s8+, note 8 and note 9.

I took it with an iphone 5s's camera but the phone still impresses me for how it makes these rather fresh highend android phones feel a bit millisecond laggy when scrolling up and down sometimes.
But other than that iOS has become shit and hardly competitive in my opinion.

9 has better sandboxing for apps than 8 does. It’s a security feature that matters quite a lot. Honestly thinking of buying an iPhone XR next year because of this. I’m not broke btw.

It's good to diversify. I always bought Notes too but I would've dropped it this year if they didn't include both USB-C earphones and Galaxy Buds for free to soften to blow of losing the jack.

at least that's somewhat good. but for me the whole appeal of the Note series was "no compromises, just pack in everything there is" - out of all the notes I owned (1,2,3,5 and now 8) the 3 was my favourite one because it had everything except the FP scanner.
honestly, fuck every manufacturer, they forced me to buy a goddamned chinkphone just to have an oled display with no notch and the jack.
it doesn't apply for devices that came out before this meme huawei ban, at least not in the same manner as for more recent devices

probably, because it had that sweet metal frame instead of painted plastic which has deteriorated in several places already but an upgrade SD800 to SD805 didn't seem like it was worth it
also I was worried that the 1440p screen would slow the phone down

It held up alright for me (5 years with only battery replacements). Also a fingerprint sensor but it required you to swipe it over the home button.

based as fuck phone. It was my last one but for some weird reason it seemed to conflict with my provider causing bad coverage and insane battery drain.

yeah, it's old now (3 years) and the newest updates tend to fuck up the battery life

when I boot it in safe mode, the phone lasts 10+ hours on moderate usage compared to 7+ hours with my normal apps/data

might upgrade to a google pixel or s9, still not sure.

just flash some pajeetrom along with a different kernel and it should last longer, especially if you spend some time configuring stuff
the s7 is still widely supported by the community
