That's the means, not the end. The goal is to keep the petrodollar safe. If there is an alternative to the petrodollar, the US dollar is fucked, which means Wall Street is fucked, and with it the whole Western world. Because if American economy fails, so does European economy, don't kid yourself. We already experienced that with subprime mortgages.

He's right it relies on oil, that's why the american govt hates iran, because they don't sell their oil exclusively in USD
USD only retains it's value due to oil trade, which props up our debt-based economy
unironically creating channels where daily oil trade can be done in primarily other currencies would negatively impact the US more than other regions
though the US is still the largest oil producer in the world at the moment with a ton of backup stocks so it would be a very long term thing
perhaps a united Eurasia instead of just europe as you'd want large oil consumers like china and india on your side, and to a lesser degree korea and japan
