Ancestors of chileans?

this map is not accurate

Fiction, ðat literally never happened.

It did. Oman ruled parts of Makran, Iran and east africa. And what is today the uae was called "the coast of Oman". There was a Omani empire and Oman had the largest fleet in the indian ocean after the british. But it is just that the map in the OP exaggerates what they controlled. Omanis never ruled Qatar or Somalia for example.

Oh man

based Arab slave traders

I miss Omani ruled Zanzibar

I should have said it is over exaggerated.

I'm pretty sure that control didn't go that far inland outside of Arabia. It was a collection of city states loyal to the sultan.

Would be funnier if the flag was Jamaican.

yeah outside of Arabia it was mostly oman ruling coastal cities in Makran and east africa. Their empire was a maritime empire that was maintained by their fleet. They were basically the most dominant empire in the western half of the indian ocean surpassing even european colonial empires like the Portuguese. They were. Until the British made sure they weren't.

europeans crashed it, armed African fauna to murder Arabs in cold blood, men, women and children

Those arabs that were genocide were mostly arabs by culture. They were heavily mixed with black blood being the children off generations of zanji interbreeding. They were basically borderline native blacks and they were butchered like cattle by other blacks that simply didn't identify as Arabs.

Very based

they stole our clay
in fact, they were our colony until the brits fucked it up sideways

Is Zanzibar the reason why ZANJI is the word for black slave in MSA?

they weren't your colony. You just occupied Muscat briefly but then they took it back and chased you to east africa. Your colony was Brazil.
and if you don't mind me asking, in Portuguese schools, do you learn about your adventures in the middle east? we learn about the Portuguese presence in the region here.

there was also the sea of Zanj" in the middle ages

depends on teacher, I got one that was educated enough to know some cool stuff.
But, portuguese history before 18th century got deleted from historical records due to a series of unfortunate events. Since most of our records were lost due to the earthquake of 1755 (that also razed morroco to the ground, but no one ever gave a shit about that).

Still, trip to india is mandatory part of curriculum, route to indonesia, Malaca port, and adventures in the far east are semi-mandatory. The wars against the ottomans in the indian ocean are not and I'm pretty sure many teachers were ignorant about that part of our history when I was in school.
I find it a bit sad our finest moment in history got forgoten by ourselves, so no, if you say muscat to a portuguese they'll think about wine (muscatel).

Heavily exaggerated. All they had was some part of the Tanzanian coast.

kek

cool to know thx for the answer

they also had Gwadar until the 50s. A lot of Baluch tribes swore loyalty to the Sultan of Oman. They were mercenaries that helped the Omanis retake Muscat and take over Zanzibar. Today Oman is full of Baluch Omanis. We also have Baluch emiratis. As we were also part of Oman. They also held territory in Iran around the strait of Hormuz.
