Pretty sensibly, they don't train shootings to become a thing

>being packed into a metal tube with 400 lb lard-mutts
>the air is saturated in sharts, sweat, and vaporized cheeseburgers
>no room because the fatties have to get their scooters on
I'll take the DurrDurr Grand Prix that is my town's traffic over that.

I'm not racist but I don't want ethnic minorities (excluding Asians) to have easy access to where I live.

why do Canadians here like to whack their balls with a hockey stick?

Because making everyone choke on exaust is so much better.

>Why are Americans

yes. Eat shit and die authoritarian commie.

>I'm not racist but
spoken like an actual racist

there's nothing wrong with racism.

Because the Big Oil™ hates public transport, fuel-efficient cars, roundabouts and peace in the Middle East.
That's why.

The public transport that I used in Asia was so awesome
I wish we had that here, but it's probably for the best we don't
It'd be dirty as fuck, full of homeless and blacks and browns, and be a great place for a shooter

le big oil's fuel money is a drop in the bucket.
Petroleum is essential to our daily life cars or no cars. I'm pretty sure they're also smart enough to dip their toes into treehugger technology as well.
You're a fool if you're thinking they're that easy to shake off.

Big Oil™ also famously hates Croatia, that's why you lost the World Cup.

>I'm pretty sure they're also smart enough to dip their toes into treehugger technology as well
A business sustainability course I took in college said that green energy's biggest investors are le big bad oil companies.

R A C I S M

americans actually dont care for freedom which is why theres still opposition towards the most free way of transport -- bicycles

thats so woke

Suburbanites and urban home owners don't want their property values to go down. Boomers gonna boom.

They don't do it out of kindness of their heart nor a concern about the planet. If you control the green energy you can also create situations in which grey energy can be used more profitable and/or for longer.

They don't fit in the seats

Didn't privateers build most of the rails in the US? Why can't they do the same again?

No efficient and clean transport? Ruled by your car addiction?

>>the air is saturated in sharts, sweat, and vaporized cheeseburgers
All trains built in the past 20 years have super power AC and ventilation systems. Legitimately more comfortable air than the Mercedes and Honda I own

Because urban and suburban rail isn't profitable enough. In the US, you could put high speed rail in about 3 areas. Urban city rail pretty much has to be built by cities and americans cannot commit to heavy rail or medium style lrt. They're only willing to pay for fufkcing streetcars, which there cities aren't well designed for.

People here drive everywhere. When I tell people that I walk to uni every morning and come back on foot they think its weird. Everything is also really far apart here in SoCal so the public transport we already have takes a long time.
>current public transport sucks and takes a long time to get anywhere
>people don't use it and get cars instead
>nobody uses it except old people or junkies who can't afford a car or have licences
>nobody is concerned about making it better because they never really use it

Its a shame. Buses can be improved. Can have Wifi and security cameras and clean seats.

They're pretty clean. Have AC and some of the more expensive ones have wifi. Event the cheapest ones are pretty clean despite the hobos and stuff that sleep in them. Its just that nobody rides them because its supposed to be a peasant thing to do. My uni had this thing where we paid $5 and had a free bus pass in the area. but they made it $40/semester so now I just walk.

how was New York able to create such a large public transit system? It seems like a complete outlier compared to other American cities

It was built before the car lobby was a major force in American politics.

40 USD per mont its a big price from the previous price. 8X higher. Here my wife can use the local bus and just spend around 50 USD per month (using the bus in 4 trips daily).

Is the car lobby big and powerful? Similar to the NRA? Is like the SEELE (in NGE)?

>They're pretty clean
I've seen too many videos of hobos in San Francisco (granted it's not SoCal, but still, close enough) shitting on buses to believe that.

Here in Rome the rich fucks living in the center actually used this kind of argument in the 70s
>W-w-we don't want those dirty working class people invading the Spanish Steps!!!!

New York also has the ideal urban conformation for a mass transit system, being a high-density city. Cities like Los Angeles are a disgrace for public transport planning.

Do they really?

America need bullet train.

national masochism

They dont like trains like you, Kaworu.

>be american
>get killed by bullet
>train

fucking racist

Kek

Because for most our country not in cities, they would be completely useless, and inter city public transit is worthless considering just how massive the whole place is, and our government is very de-centralized with states and cities often having more important law than the federal government making any inter state transit a bureaucratic hell hole that wouldn't even be profitable anyway since everyone just uses their cars

brainwashed by GM propaganda

For me it depends on the person operating the vehicle.
I've dealt with rude bus drivers before but even then I am used to it.

Public transportation can be a mess here too of where I live

Any website or map of their routes?

I share this new idea of local goverment (so called centrall downtown routes:

Public transportation in the US is not profitable at all. My dad as a small business owner just in the NYC metropolitan area had to shell out thousands each month to bail out the MTA here even though he doesn't use the train at all just because they went bankrupt.

I like cars better.

>Public transportation in the US is not profitable at all.
Because we subsidize roads/car ownership.
> My dad as a small business owner just in the NYC metropolitan area had to shell out thousands each month to bail out the MTA

Good. I hope your dad went bankrupt too.

They're not as good for the environment though

>Public transportation in the US is not profitable at all.
>Because we subsidize roads/car ownership.
This is the fucking thing with public transit, especially rail. Why the fuck is it meant to be profitable? We shell out tens of billions at a time on bridges and highways without batting a fucking eye, but even a modest public transit plan is immediately labelled as too costly.

When I visited some american relatives of mine in California, they were staying at a trailer park. My brother and I went there and one of my relative was waiting for us outside in his car. He told us to get in because his trailer was far away. We told him we were going on foot, he drove to his spot which was fitfy (50) meters away. I still laugh about it to this day

It's not really feasible due to our size.

And by our size I mean the size of our country.

Because of bad urban design and road building

Attached: nowhere.jpg (500x375, 129K)

Irrelevant post since it doesn't explain why even urban areas have shit-tier public transport.

>but even a modest public transit plan is immediately labelled as too costly.

Because fucking up the routes, or city changing in not predicted ways can hinder it.

See

My commute is like 50 minutes per ride back and forth to university.
I don't mind, because during the ride I could do anything like mess with my phone, studying, etc.

I don't like driving by myself because you can't do anything other than being focused on the road.

We don’t have trams here either. Strange because even Japan has them too but we abandoned all the ones we hand and now they are thought as antique, exotic, and outdated.

I honestly hate that shit about America. I live less than 20 miles from my state's capitol building--and 10 from a university with nearly 50,000 students--but would have to walk three hours to get to the nearest bus stop.

Trams only make sense in middle sized cities (~500k). Considering the size of Asian cities it makes sense that you would not invest in tramways.

Racist whites

Because it doesn't fit in with the American isolation ethos:
Have good job, get nice car/house, and fuck off in suburbia

I used it every day when I was in university. It's good for short trips, but when I got a job afterwards and didn't have a car yet it fucking sucked.
I've used good public transportation in other countries but since we've decided to replace ourselves with third world trash I'd rather avoid public transportation when possible.

We arent but our country is so spread out it only makes sense in urban areas and larger towns. Why does a Canadian not understand that?

A crowded subway train still gets hot because all of the bodies cut down on airflow. Plus you're assuming they are properly maintained.
t.NYC

Mutts can't into urban planning or proper maintenance of public property. Nobody wants to invest in public good becuase muh taxmoney. Rather own a piece of shit than share something glorious. True nignog mentality.

Even cities struggle with public transport. It's not an urban vs rural thing.
