It can't be that hard.

Why does the Swede care about funland?
Try your luck with Norway or Denmark lleave Finland alone

swedish is easier im assuming?
ok that settles it

i think its going to be hard for most people because the only resource they have before going to finland is books or youtube videos, its not a popular language

Yeah, pretty sure I can learn it.

ive never tried to learn a language purely from media without interaction with a tutor of some sorts but i dont think itll be easy for something as obscure as finnish

Saved.

he should be drinking ES

Hes trolling you. Nobody here actually speaks swedish even though it's taught in schools. It's just a historical remnant thats taught for traditional purposes, a language everyone I know has swiftly forgotten after they've passed their exams. However, most finns, especially younger generations, are very proficient in english, so you sohuld get along with english just fine for starters. Finnish will start to adhere to you once you surround yourself with finnish speaking people. It's also a good idea because the finnish youre taught online and abroad is what we often refer to as "book finnish", something nobody actually speaks. Dialects are very strong and proiminent here and spoken finnish differs a lot from written finnish, so it's a good idea to try to assimilate in a location and learn the finnish they speak there, rather than overload yourself with first learning book finnish and then realizing how its of no use in day-to-day communications and having to learn spoken finnish on top of that.

Do Americans really small talk to strangers in the elevator

Attached: 1566740339698.png (1080x996, 426K)

Surely not

Ive been to america and its scary how much they talk

unfortunately this is sometimes the case yes

Usually just take the stairs if I see someone enter the elevator before myself. It's not worth the risk.
