In most Arab countries, religion in politics is relegated to family law and things such as divorce, inheritance, marriage etc. Christians and Jews have their own courts which deal in that. It's the same in Israel.

The only two countries where Islamic Sharia Law applies fully as state law is Saudi Arabia and Iran, and maybe Qatar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, I'm not sure about those though.

My point is that most Arab countries with the exception of Saudi Arabia are not governed by Islamic law except in family law. Even Saudi Arabia is starting to gradually moderate
