Explain finbro

Our neighbour thinned his forest down to about half density a few years ago so it grows over completely with nettles every summer. Its impossible to even find the path, more so to get through, so I bring a scythe over and cut new paths every summer. They're really not very painful, my dog likes to jump right into them and run around

i feel like they would hurt my stomach

Cooking them removes the poison

Why must dumb assholes always fuck with nature

mmm da good erb jah bless

just eating them raw is totally fine, too. just grip them firmly and the hairs bend instead of penetrating, and they dont hurt in your mouth

I remember seeing an american kid at school who had never seen nettles before run into a patch of them to collect our football.

when I was an edgy little cunt in junior high I wanted to hurt myself by my family didn't have a knoife loicense so I went out and found a giant hogweed and rubbed it all over my arms. hurt like a bitch and had to stay out of the sun for a week but of course that wasn't much of a problem for me back then

Same shit here. Some paths can only be used in April and May because of that shit. Also, fuck these in particular. They like to show up when the forest gets chopped down.

I don't think you can get a good soup out of it, it's too old
You need young nettle leaves

It seems... Nettles... have made the milk... drop out... from inside my teat!

There are some variants that don't sting, but these certainly do. If you look closely you can see some really sharp needles.

You know how they have those white flowers? Not only do they not burn, but I also used to pluck those flowers and suck the nectar straight from them. You can barely taste it since it's so little, but it's pretty sweet.

Lmao, land owners literally get fined here if they have these plants growing in their land.

We call them j𝘢ggy nettles in Scotland.

What are they?

Sosnowsky's hogweed. That shit burn yours skin if you touch it and if the burn gets exposed to sunlight it can literally kill you.

I’m from Scotland and I swear I’ve seen plants that look like that. Never heard of it being an issue though.

These are actually called "Tromso Palm" here because there's a lot of them in the Tromso area. I've seen them in the forest here, but never knew they were dangerous until recently. Thankfully, I never had the urge to touch one.

I have lived in a city all my life and still know what stinging nettle is

I don't see this plant by me, we have poison ivy, I'm in poison ivy every day. I think I'm immune to it, it does nothing to me.

hemlock looks very similar

Well, an Estonian and Russian are being moany bastards about it.

I’ll take a picture when I next come across some.

based plant, we put it into soups, cook it like spinach or whip it with eggs, form into patties and fry them

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heracleum_sosnowskyi
Tromso palm is a diffrent plant and doesn't grow here

there are tons of similar looking plants

DUDE

yeah i used to run trough them, jump into them and roll around
i did it for a dare and a girl i liked looked at me that one time
it was 20 years ago but still it was worth it
its not that bad, it just stings but not so much if you allow it to go trough you and embrace its effect, then it feels like its just numbing maybe 3 mm deep of your skin
my mom once mistook it for spinach and made a pie from it, it was good but the throat stung.
pie was good

>don't worry bro, they're the fake ones that can't hurt you
