hold through volatility and think in the long term edition
>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy? Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.
it is annoying, but the long term is what matters as long as the fundamentals don't change, there's no reason to sell
Ryan Brown
should open a restaurant that only specializes in grilled cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.. Different types of peanut butter.. different types of jelly... the grilled cheese can be different cheeses add in things like ham or bacon.. you get the point..

Mimi’s is abysmal in general, I only ate there once; it was after a youth hockey game when I was 10 and their ‘cken ‘gers sickened me. Their outside is pretty inviting though.
>ETFs are good long term investments they said >Little but steady growth they said >Whole ETF portfolio tanking no end in sight Did I get rused?
Cameron Reed
it's a dip approaching correction territory today, there is too much extra cash flowing right now for a recession people are going to buy the shit out of this dip.
Luis Taylor
When will AMD hit the bottom?
Kevin Diaz
I think so too. Lot of dip buying going on today especially.

>made 3k in first 3 days of last week >lose it all on the 4th
Back when i was in middle school.. i had a neighbor that was extremely asian and a neighbor that was black.. they would always go around the corner to the mainstreet and go behind a bush after the school bus would drop them off.. i one day asked what the fuck are you guys doing and they were all giggly and were like.. we have our porn collection back there.. you are more than welcome to check it out.. take some leave some type of deal.. i'm like.. hmm.. ok.. so i went and had a look.. all fucking anime porn.. video tapes (before dvds were common) magazines.. just straight up a shoe box of anime porn.. thought it was the weirdest fucking thing.. who in the fuck would watch this shit? who would enjoy this? wtf is this? then i found Jow Forums.

Rates must be raised quickly above 10% otherwise all pension funds will be bust in case of stock market crash
Why was one neighbor extremely Asian but the other one was just black? He wasn’t extremely black? I’ve seen your picture, you’re white but I wouldn’t say extremely so, just normally so.
I can't call bottom but I can say it bounced off July support today, is now oversold on daily RSI, and will likely do a bounce on Monday or on Tuesday if Monday turns out to be a low volume doji. Last two day's candles are outside the lower bband. See chart. I would swing trade this on Monday/Tuesday if I had any cash left (i'm tapped out after buying the deep dips this week).
This is my joost song youtu.be/Qe500eIK1oA It came out at the bottom of the gfc so I always associated it with that.
John Clark
What do you think is going to happen to AMD on Monday?
Aaron Harris
Long term prices will fall. Short term prices will spike due to mideast tensions
Blake Adams
I don't know but historically AMD is a bouncy stock. It could be weak for a while. Floor is probably around $15 maybe? Keep in mind it was down around $10 this year.
Nolan Collins
Wasn't the point of their short positions a hedge against a global downturn ?
Flat as pancake since Wednesday. Bought the dude weed deep dip, returned to even money, now sitting waiting for the break one way or the other.
Jaxson Brooks
I'm gonna add that to my JUST'd playlist. And maybe also Beck - Loser.

If it’s NRZ you’ll be dandy.

NO NO NO NOT THE ELITES
Hedge funds tout their ability to do well during periods of market stress. But many aren’t doing well during the current October rout.
On Wednesday, a large group of hedge funds that bet for and against stocks had their worst day in almost seven years, according to a report released Thursday from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The so-called fundamental long-short equity hedge funds tracked by Goldman dropped 1.44% on Wednesday, according to the client report, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The Giles Corey song or the Korn song I'm really surprised nobody has ever posted
"BEATING ME DOWN BEATING ME BEATING ME DOWN DOWN INTO THE GROUND"
in a JUST thread before it goes with the tone of the meme really well

That's probably because this dip isn't rational and they were buying the whole way down. They'll win bigly on the rebound.
Jose Bennett
Hahaha fuck them right? I only lost 7.13% that day
Jaxon Evans
Put your billions with hedge funds, we will protect it in downtu.... FUCK

So-called “long-short” equity hedge funds — which bet both on and against companies — have lost 5.6 per cent in the month to October 24, already the worst monthly performance since August 2011, according to HFR.
Benjamin Martinez
Yeah, we all know the time to buy is when there's shilling in the media or something like that.
Nathan Rogers
If hedgies are rekt, institutions are rekt, and retail traders are rekt, who's doing well? Somebody is..
Gabriel Cruz
>why would you not long weed?
Too volatile right now. I make more swing trading the sector for the moment.
the point was they haven't been performing well for years and now on a downturn aren't doing as expected. It's only a single month and variance is in play though. I admit, just fucking around wiht the posts don't take anything here serious.
When the dust settles, value stocks will be the new winners. Also sin stocks and commodities will do well. We clearly entered a new paradigm, the age of FAANG is over. Value stocks and consumer staples will be the new hot things, tangible products that people can physically enjoy. Also war stocks
Buy weed, cigs, alcohol, commodities, defense stocks. Sell your Google and Netflix shit
