hello, Jow Forums, I'm working on an ICO project. I'm working on my whitepaper right now and I've run across a major issue.
I think it's an almost unsolvable problem to be quite honest. I'm really thinking hard about it. Just wanted to get opinions on this. It seems to never be discussed.

If you give the dev team the ability to censor, it destroys the entire point. If you put in a flagging system, then if enough idiots flag things they can censor it.
How do you moderate a decentralized platform without making the entire point of decentralization pointless?
fuck all you can do, i presume even though the platform is decentralized you are still the 'owner' and (((they))) will just ban it for hosting illegal content

let the community decide if it's appropriate by downvoting, upvoting (like in reddit or stack overflow for example)

Not sure if this would work technically, but you could require rating/flagging of like 3 random posts prior to submitting your own. This would put the responsibility on statistically impartial viewers, rather than people who might specifically seek out posts they disagree with.

Tbh an anonymous image board like this would be the best way to do decentralized social media. However OP, dont expect to make a lot of money off of it as it could get banned for all the reasons you stated. Also, good luck cashing out your own tokens if your site ends up being a hub for illegal shit

An imageboard would be very neat, I just don't want degenerates using the platform. I'm not even sure if I'll continue on with the idea due to this problem.
I don't want a hive mind and like said I don't want people removing/censoring things that they specifically disagree with.
