I can survive and be comfortable on 24k net, which is approximately 35k gross. I gross 110k a year and work 35 hours a week as a programmer with all the time in the world for my relatively cheap hobbies.

Unless you truly love a woman and think she wouldn't leave you for some petty reason I would say don't get married especially the way the courts are stacked towards women with custody and alimony. Most women don't have loyalty like they used to, they are raised that it is ok to leave men when they are unhappy and not raised to work on relationships. You could find a unicorn and make it work but the relationship between the sexes is pretty fucked atm in the US.
