This is 100% true. If you look good, are well dressed and you act confident, no one will question you. This works especially well in stores with 2 exits, like in a mall. They will assume you paid at the other side's cash and you just walk past them.

Also if you want to be bold, get a uniform from a wagecuck that matches a big box store. Put the shirt on and you can walk anywhere and just carry stuff out of the store. If it's a big store no one will question it, they will just think you are a new worker. I used to work at Canadian Tire, and use my old uniform sometimes. I've stolen 3 tvs this way lmao

I'm not proud of this and it was a couple of years ago.
I used to Buy bags of Brazilian and Indian nuts. They're pretty expensive.
I loaded up a bag, weighed it, put the price on, then went to load x2 or sometimes even x3 more in.
I did this on busy days when cashiers were overwhelmed. When I got to the checkout I struck out a conversation with the cashier to distract them, they never caught on. It always worked. I then sold those nuts in paper cups around the city center marking up the price times 2.
Made enough to pay rent.
Store figured they were bleeding money on those nuts so they set up a store-hand in the vegetabl-fruits section and only they could weigh and tag your nuts or fruits. So I moved on to other stores until they caught on too. All the stores in my area do this now, so I stopped doing it. I also don't need to anymore since I got a steady income but it was very easy turning a profit doing this.

A good cover is to act like you've spaced out or got distracted by your phone and forgot to pay. I've accidentally stolen things from grocery stores by doing this.

I do it by being white, dressing well and incorrectly scanning an item early in my cart. After the attendant fixes it they don't bother me again.

You can do this sort of thing dressed as a"work man" or wearing a hi-vis vest as well. Bonus points for walking into an office and asking to pickup the thing on your manifest then walking out with random gear.
