it's true. you should be able to decide for each dApp / use-case if global consensus is needed. in 99,99% of all use-cases you can get away with using local consensus and a DHT.

no i am not, are you retarded? i just said no one is forcing you to use holo.host you can build on holochain without it. does that make sense? you decide... but it is possible. Holo's foundation is only relevant for hosts to get paid in the early days, soon we will see 3rd party exchanges and a thriving decentralized economy around holofuel and HOT. i have seen sick shit that's in the works, i went to their Amsterdam hackathon.
