hey everyone I'm back, sorry I disappeared earlier
I'm here to answer any questions + rant about jews and corrupt government
we service easily 50 cars a week. I usually have 5 or 6 employees on staff, 3 mechanical lifts.
My advice is not to go into this fucking business. All of my profit walks out the door to our landlord, our parts supplier, to the IRS, and most importantly to the horribly corrupt NY state
I genuinely feel bad for my customers because we can't survive without charging double or even triple of what I could charge in a cheaper area like Texas
>My advice is not to go into this fucking business in NY
fixed that for ya
Adam Perry
what part of NY? If you're near me I'll come throw you some biz. Need an oil change soon
Adrian Perez
How is NY corrupt with respect to your biz?
Lincoln Cooper
>corrupt NY state
New York State's government seems worse than any other. The way they've handled cryptocurrency and gambling regulation just shows how fucking corrupt this State is.
Nathaniel Allen
>opening a business in NY
Liquidate and move
Jason Hall
I wouldn't want to dox myself but we're in Nassau county, we charge $29.99 for a normal oil change and $10 extra per quart of synthetic
our oil change is designed to get the right people through the door so we can be nice to them and gain some trust, so that when you need a larger repair, we are he for you anytime you need it :)
thank you so much man
Brayden Brooks
let me guess theres a unicorn in engine i need to get fixed, fuck mechanics you guys live off of ripping ordinary people off fucking scumbag
Tyler Russell
yep, here's the answer guys... we're getting boned so bad and our customers too. they pay like 15000 a year in property tax
25k in property tax, 80k in sales tax, environmental regulations, licensing, income tax for all of our employees, red light cameras, horrible zoning laws prevent us from finding a cheaper place, cops are dicks
we dont dick people like that, come to us when your oil or coolant have thrown up all over the ground and we'll be happy to fix for a non rape price
Nicholas Sanders
I hear you bro. I'm in suffolk. Best of luck hope you make it
James Morgan
>i own a garage doing 1.1M in revenue >All of my profit walks out the door to our landlord, our parts supplier, to the IRS, and most importantly to the horribly corrupt NY state shit I almost sperg out because I first read profit instead of revenue
Charles Richardson
i live in suffolk :) we'll be alright, the worst that happens is we lose the biz, but i dont have any personal assets leveraged into it

Hey I got an engine hesitation problem. I replaced my sparkplugs, sparkplug wiring, and distributor cap/rotor. It didn't fix the problem but it needed to be replaced anyway because it's a 30 year old car. After sniffing around the internet I think I definitely narrowed it down to a sensor issue. During a test drive I had the pedal touching floor and I was barely creeping but after I stopped and restarted everything went back to normal.
TPS sensor maybe? I dunno man I'm just a dumbass kid who decided to buy a MR2 AW11 as his first car and now I'm over my head, any advice would be appreciated.
Kevin Cook
yeah its fucking crazy isnt it? 33% parts, 33% rent, 33% labor. sometimes it is my mechanic's labor, and sometimes mine
I am lucky to make 45k honestly at the end of the year. my mechanic makes 60k and my other guys who do sales and janitor/oil make about 30-40k
Jackson Roberts
hmm, at first i was going to say either an air or fuel issue. ive seen cars bogged down from a lack of usable air coming into the engine through the filter-- cheap easy fix. fuel issue could be the injectors.
the only time i would change a sensor is if the engine was throwing a code, like upstream/downstream oxygen sensor, bank 1 sensor 1 etc. another thing i see often is misfire codes, which would mean replacing the corresponding ignition coils
good luck! just swap out the engine and strip all electrical wiring and switches :)))
Zachary Hernandez
today we did $7500 in sales
$1000 goes to landlord and regulatory expenses $2000 goes to parts and oil and snapon $2000 goes to payroll $1000 goes to sales taxes $1000 that should be my profit as an owner goes to debt servicing to pay off working capital loans that are needed to pay the bills during the winter when less people are repairing their cars
Eli Barnes
I always thought about opening up a garage but always consider against it because of how depressed everyone looks when i need to go to a mechanic This explains why Shame desu
Isaiah Russell
How is the oil change business? Why don't you branch out into mobile oil changes and send one of your mechanics out on routes?
Michael Cruz
>landlord you cant buy the property? make him an offer?
>labor why are you wasting so much on labor. wouldnt it be cheaper to just higher some 17yo apprentice, pay min wage, and teach him how to do it, then recycle to new staff once he gets older? ofc you need some experience staff as well i guess who need higher pay. but idk how this business works so..
Bentley James
>$2000 in payroll what in the fuck
why are you paying your staff so much? how many staff do you have?
Christian Gutierrez
My family has owned a automotive shop for literally the past 100 years. It's not a bad profession, just dealing with blacks and white trash is awful. They just don't pay their bills.
Jose Davis
Even people in jew york need mechanics op. People in new york is rich you should just charge what you need to survive. Anyone talk shit show them your budget.
So the business runs at a deficit half the year and is barely profitable the other half? You should liquidate the garage and try in open in a better area if possible.
My uncle owns a garage on Long Island. Godspeed OP.
Liam Johnson
what a nightmare.
i would hate having to make $1 million dollars just to break even. wtf.
if i go the shop route i won't be fixing Stacy's toyota. Id be working on building high end projects for high end customers. Seems like the better way of going about it rather than compete with every mexican mechanic in the country for basic repairs
Charles Ward
Fellow business owner. I completely agree.
I have to charge about $100/hr for labor.
And after all the money comes in, I'm left with about $65k a year.
It's not until you own a business that you really understand how many leaches there are in American society.
I don't have a big issue with the government, my bigger complaint is with the jew lawyers that have created the overly litigious society we live in. All the fucking lawsuits force insurance and fees on everything to be double what they really should be,
Levi Wilson
Someone once told me:
"Either you run the business or the business runs you. And if the business runs you, then you need to change it or get out."
Andrew Ross
>I own a garage doing 1.1m Translation: sorry guys, we have mandatory breaks at jiffy lube, but I’m back now
