binance is dumping their tether for btc at an alarming rate. they had 782m in their cold storage wallet and CZ tweeted that he was going to move all of it into a new address in one large transaction about a week ago. instead of it happening in one transaction, they tumbled it into thousands of tiny transactions and the new cold wallet ended up with 600m.
they dumped 180m of it for btc.

tether going down is just reinforces why we need bitcoin in the first place. most of the wealth that's gonna be transferred from tether to BTC in the coming weeks/months aren't going to be transferred back to USD. maybe tehy're transferred into DAI (a decenralized stablecoin) but most of it will stay right there in BTC and just survive whatever happens
that is if tether goes down. but desu they've went through worse shit than this and there's a reason why the market isn't panicking over their 850m shortage. you might call ifinex guys whatever, but the shit they marched through and kept head above water is insane. i think ther's a good chance they survive this. but regardless, eventually they won't. that's why we need bitcoin.
