You are absolutely correct, and even BSV people fail to understand this (with the exception of Craig and nChain). In the future you cannot expect miners to serve you for free. Why the hell should they? There is no law saying they have to. They can even prune the chain if they want to and there is nothing you can do about it. Pruning is explained in the White Paper ffs. All you need to mine new blocks is the previous block hash and the utxo. People are stupid and think that by uploading shit to the chain they have paid for storage and free access for all time. They will be shocked when the truth hits them.
