I don't know what they do to combat inbreeding but inbreeding is actually a huge problem in the amish community... they are considered very ugly mostly because of this and some have mental/health problems because of all the inbreeding. The origin of a nearby hospital was actually specifically for treating all the inbreeding related illnesses for amish people.
