I saw this woman outside a grocery store in London, Ontario. I even witnessed an old boomer lady give her a hug ..

My girl told me she saw her walk to middle eastern man who parked his minivan after I went inside. I suspect he was probably collecting his money.

As was the case for most emigrants who went from France to New France, 80% of the filles du roi were from the Paris, Normandy and the western regions.[12] Almost half were from the Paris area, 16% from Normandy and 13% from western France. Most came from urban areas,[13] with the Hôpital-Général de Paris and the Saint-Sulpice parish being big contributors.[14] Many were orphans with very meagre personal possessions, and with a relatively low level of literacy.[15] Socially, the young women came from different social backgrounds, but were all very poor. They might have been from an elite family that had lost its fortune, or from a large family with children "to spare."[16] Officials usually matched women of higher birth with officers or gentlemen living in the colony,[17] sometimes in the hopes that the nobles would marry the young women and be encouraged to stay in Canada rather than return to France. A few women came from other European countries, including Germany, England, and Portugal.[18]

France stationed soldiers in Canada such as the Marines, and the Courier De Bois served the French and lived in Canada after the war. There are records of Highlanders, and other British soldiers staying in Canada after the FIW. This is all prior to the AWI. The groups of Canadians even after the AWI were still fairly large. York was a fairly big city, as well as Quebec, and the War of 1812 which happened like 50 years after the end of the FIW involved large amounts of people and were national in scope, not colonial.

Many British settlers found more freedom in the New World because England was crowded and poor. Some swathes of the men in the British army were made of apprentices and tradesmen who couldn't find work back in England. I'm curious as to "opportunities elsewhere" were in the 1750s. There really only was the U.S. and Canada and Britain wanted to use settlers to ensure that the British government and no one else had claim to the area.

As for the Daughters of the King. They weren't there to sleep with French soldiers and just French soldiers. They were there to marry French men who were shacking up with Indian women and they wanted to avoid a situation like in Latin America and wanted White women to marry French men so they could maintain French control of Quebec and not worry about rebellion.

Your right though in a sense that French women didn't want to immigrate there, but that's because it was cold.

Friendly reminder to get your firearm license.

Why are they pushing bug eating?

Also why are bug products so expensive? I heard of a cricket chocolate the other day. Costs 104 €/kg. Is it just a ruse to fleece moneys off hippie morons?

it's the 'delicacy'' phase of the project

people will see them for $15/kg and think they are getting the best deal for a DELICACY.

Good strats but what happens when there's nothing but bug paste and dirty water?

My comment is referring to when Industrial jobs were available in Canada in the late 1800's ( like 1880- onwards) where we started recieving non UK Europeans en masse.

There were many opportunties for British Colonial settlers from 1750-1880. almost 1/4 of the world in the end.

Early settlment was through impressment or like you said "big incentives".

No body wanted to live here.

I can name several notable " Canadians" that not only despised Canada and Canadians buy hated they were here.

General Brock is perfect example and Cardinal Richelieu

Just buy from local farmers. I try to source as much as I can from local farmers, bypassing the distributors, logistics, warehousing and value added shit at grocery stores.
