How would you get over sexual inadequacy? I got divorced and my ex-wife is dating a black dude. She recently lost a lot of weight and got a boob job (her tits were a train wreck prior to marriage, think nailed egg on the wall).

I know this has nothing to do with me, but I have internalized this and feel sexually inadequate. I know whatever she does with her life doesn't affect me, but I have been down for the past 24 hours thinking that because she got bigger boobs and she's dating a black dude that means I failed as a man.

OP is self aware enough to say his wife's new man and body changes have nothing to do with him, and that he's internalized it and feels inadequate because of it.

You have to understand that hatred in all cases comes from something tangible. A dog that has been beaten its whole life will lash out and try to bite a hand that's trying to feed it. This is a natural and completely understandable reaction.

It's wrong to blame people who have suffered (or whose parents/grandparents have suffered, because these internalized traumas are passed down through generations) for dealing with it in seemingly irrational ways. I'm not just talking about black people - victims of domestic abuse, or families who suffered the trauma of bombs being dropped on their village - can you really blame them for having hatred in their hearts?

Human suffering is cyclical and self replicating. I'm not saying every bad deed ever done can be explained by this - but rather that the motivation behind people's actions should be explored and considered before judging them as a good or bad person.
