how do I intiaite change in my life?
I have come here and made threads over and over again and I keep getting advice, but I never put it into action. I keep getting told to get fit, but I never go back to the gym, I get told to go out and practice socialization but I never I do, just sit in my room all day or talk to the same people I always have talked to. I'll start something, but I usually quit after a few days

OP is LITERALLY me. I refuse to make my bed because messy blankets are more comfy and blanketed sheets are proven to be ideal environments for little creatures that live on you bed. Exposed sheets aren’t as good for them.

I was in the same boat a few years ago. If you really want change, it helps to learn to take pride in the little things.

Set an alarm and get up every morning at a reasonable time. Even if you just fuck around all day after that, getting into a normal daily routine really helps. Exercise a little every day. Push-ups, squats, whatever. Just do it for 15 minutes every day, and eventually you will be surprised at how much better you feel about yourself. Maybe pick up a hobby, try to learn a new skill? i settled on learning piano - no particular reason, I just felt like it. I bought a keyboard on amazon and three years later I'm pretty good - people compliment me on it. That's something I can take pride in.

It's about forming new habits, really. That shits never easy at first, but it really does become easy later on. I find it helps to make the goals small, and short-term. Long term goals like "get fit" are way too vague and you'll feel like you aren't making progress even if you are. "get to a point where I can do x amount of pushups" however is far more attainable., for example.
