Why do girls only wear ankle-length socks?

I do too, I wear jeans and sneakers. The only part of your body that needs socks is only your feet, so long socks is retarded and pointless.

Because girls also tend to wear skirts, shorts, or pants that are more likely to show the ankle. Having long socks showing with no pants covering them is a fashion faux pas.

Guys tend to wear long pants and so the socks are designed to not show any skin gap, which is itself a fashion faux pas.

Think about how silly it looks for a person to wear shorts, tall socks, and sandals. That's why women's socks are often ankle-length.

I wear ankle socks, boot socks, no-show socks, knee-high socks. It all depends on what I'm wearing. My boyfriend is the same, at least long socks with pants and short socks with shorts.

It helps to have long ass socks because not only is rubbing and chafing against the insides of the boot practically non-existent, but if shit manages to find it's way into the boot, there is still the sock in the way so it can't get right to your skin (i.e. ticks, bits of poison ivy, dirt, snow, etc.) And if you wear boots somewhat regularly, there is basically no point in getting socks that don't at least go up to the shin.

If you only wear shoes, then you don't need longer socks. If you wear boots, then crew or tube socks are alot more comfy.

Girl here. Mainly wear tights (no need for socks, already built in lol) thigh high socks, or knee highs.
I do have a few tube socks I wear with my fish nets and docks. The whole 90s thing.
I don't own any ankle socks.
