I was hit by a car today while I was biking to work. The driver tried to pass me in an oncoming lane where I was turning into my work's driveway. Ambulances came the whole thing.
I already had rods in my back. I can vividly remember the cold feeling of the pavement on my face. I can still walk and have no paralysis. I'm lucky.
I was in the ER for 10 hours and I'm now sleeping in my own bed. I'm just kind of not sure how to process this. I feel annoyed and in a way scared at how close I was to dying or never walking. I got off with a fractured wrist and spine.
You better sue. Fuck them over big time most times during accident's the pain or issues don't start until a while after. You better sue this person or they'll do it to someone else.

No, she had a kid and seemed genuinely sorry. I'm in Canada. As long as her insurance pays for most of this I'm okay.
I've wrestled with this a lot today. I'm fine financially, I hope she is too, but if she's not I can't forgive myself if it fucks her up.
lmaooooo you're dumb as fuck but you're canadian so I guess I shouldn't have expected much, if you were an American you'd have BANK in like 6 months.

Money isn't everything, life is good already

You should talk to her and see if you can get a mediator to find some compromised settlement. Like a payment plan or something of 100 a month until you are paid 5000.

You sound like an amazing person. I'm crushing on you atm from your comment.

Aww thanks! I try to stay positive
I have a car, I just love the exercise and environmental benefits
what's your point exactly? he's Canadian and in America there's a lot of places where having a car is more of a hassle than a good thing. Like in any Major US City having a car is for fools who just want to show off

Hahahaha, no user but thanks for the laugh.

Make friends with em. Maybe a screwy friendship can form. Stuff sounds like a sitcom premise, though that doesn’t excuse the injury. Still, gotta get something positive out of this , if not money.

You are welcome! Thanks for the (you). Also, definitely do rehab for as long as needed and/or when you feel 100% healthy. Wouldn't be able to run if I didn't.
It was painful and a bit expensive, but well worth it.

This is the most Canadian thread I've ever seen on this board.
Didn't you guys legalize pot today?? Like recreationally?
Isaac Russell
I'm going to miss this when Canada is totally taken over.
Jayden Ward
Canada really isn't cool enough a place to live to get taken over. The weather is pretty shitty and it's expensive to live in.

Pretty much anything that people do involves some form of risk. Accept that and do what you want to do understanding that you're not in control of the outcome. If you want to minimize your risk, then do that.
As far as the driver who hit you, fuck her. Assuming you signaled instead of just pulling in front of her car as she was attempting to pass you, her behavior was about her impatience and lack of concern for your safety.
If you didn't signal, maybe you shouldn't be such a fucking idiot.
I don't think you understand tort law, how insurance works, or that you can't get money from someone who doesn't have money.
